A Good Night Sleep

Summer always messes up my kids’ sleeping schedule. The love to stay up late, and wake up late. I tend to let them because what are summer for. But now that school is only 6 weeks away, I have to wean them of this habit. I can’t have them sleeping late when they need to be up early.

So, starting this week, I wake them up around 7 to walk 2-4 miles around our neighborhood. I think it’s working pretty good so far. It just means that I jog my 6 miles at half past five in the morning, then when I’m done, I wake up my kids. Change my clothes and take them walking again. It’s not such a bad deal. Of course, when it’s too hot, I have to start out even earlier.

Fun In Jamaica’s Sun

Contribution by Michale Greer

I have been trying to plan a trip to Jamaica for the past ten years and finally got enough nerve to do it. A group of my friends left all of the planning to me because I am a true research queen. I started out looking at the different locations and fell in love with Naples and Ocho Rios. They were both out of our day to day element, which we were looking for. I finally chose Ocho Rios and got to work looking for the best airfare and the cheapest hotel accommodations. I was surprised to see how easy it was for me to orchestrate our trip. We received deep discounts on airfare and hotels for going in groups and planning well in advance. My hughes net satellite internet made it much easier to navigate especially with how many hours it took for me to plan everything even while using hughes wireless internet providers. I knew that I would plan the trip because we all decided using a travel agent was not an option.  hughes satellite MD is full of so much valuable information and I could shop around for the best prices before I decided to purchase. It turned out to be the best decision. We all enjoyed the trip especially the resort were we stayed and how amazing the food, drinks and the people were. I’m the group’s new designated travel agent.

Diving Smart

I was about to go to sleep so I can jog my 6 miles before my 9AM swim class. As you know, I’m just learning how to swim at my age. :)

A cousin of mine posted a video titled ‘Diving Accident’. It’s on a Pier, but it has a landing below. If anyone were to dive safely, they’d have to clear this 5-foot concrete landing. The first person who attempted it cleared the landing. The second person did not. I can see on the video a mushrooming of blood around the head area. Later on in the video, I can see that this guy’s face was ripped in half, but he’s still breathing. A doctor was holding his face together. It’s ripped form the nose down…so hopefully, no brain damage.

How am I supposed to sleep now with that vision on my head? It just freaked me out a little because my 6 years old was doing somersault dive on the shallow end of the pool where they took lesson.

Anyway, my cousin should have warned that the video link he has is very gory!

PhotoHunt 222: Triangle

It’s a challenge to find some triangle picture…then I saw this Easter egg hunt photo my friend took of our children. Three kids like a triangle as they hunt for eggs. More pictures here.
