I Can Lead A Horse To Water…

As a Mom, it is very frustrating when you see such potential in a child and they do nothing with it. For example, I see a talent for swimming. It’s not only I who sees it, a swim team coach noticed it enough that they send an invite to one of my children.

I don’t mind the driving and the waiting. I have my books to read. But when a child would thoughtlessly let me drive half an hour round trip only to announced that they’d rather not go to swim team…right when we’re outside the door to the pool.

I am not really mad, but quite disappointed since there isn’t any other reason than wanting to say no. It’s a power play, I supposed. I just don’t get it, and I am still stump how to deal with it. When I’m not dealing, I stay quiet because I think it’s better than going off in the mouth and saying something I might regret.

Thanks To My Husband

I’m very good at goofing off. In fact, I had some excellent reasons why I hadn’t jogged during June 27-30. I forget what my wonderful excuses were, but my husband finally talked me into going. He knows I want to jog, if only to out run my eating mouth!

I reluctantly laced my sneakers, and found my iPod nano. I don’t think I can jog 6 miles without it. I like quiet, but it’s not what I wanted. I want loud music to keep my feet moving. I can run in spurts of 2 minutes at 6 miles per hour. Then I have to stop and walk.

After 4 days of nothing jogging, I finally went back, and was very glad I did. Thank you my Honey Bunny!

Sunday Is A Day Off

I had planned to jog 6 miles today, swim for a mile and then that’s it. Except, now it’s 8:18AM…and I’m thinking.

Sunday is a rest day! What am I thinking planning all these things? I could finish watching These Girls with David Boreanaz on there. He was prancing around naked. I can see everything. When I say everything, I really meant everything thing!  I have to say that I admire his fine form.

Or, I could just laced my sneakers, pack a swimsuit and go to the gym already. It’s too hot to jog in my neighborhood now because the sun is shining in all its beautiful glory!

We’ll see if I actually made it out of here today. Okay, off to lace my sneakers and pack my swimsuit now while hubby can still babysit all 5 children.

Our First 5K

This is my daughter and I before we run/jog/walk our first 5K together. Actually, I sort of left her with the other children while I try to jog it. It took me 45 minutes, I think. I walked most of it because it’s so hot and muggy and I prefer to jog in a cooler weather.

This is after our race, we’re a bit more bedraggled, sweaty, and wet…but real happy to have done it.
