How’s Your Vocabulary?

Your Vocabulary Score: A-

Congratulations on your multifarious vocabulary!You must be quite an erudite person.

How’s Your Vocabulary?

I am almost offended. I am my husband’s dictionary. I am pretty sure what I missed. It’s quixotic. I should have know better after all, there’s Miguel de Cervantes hero called Don Quixote . Any way, A- isn’t really bad. I think. It’s a fun quiz.

I am tagging the following:

RennyBA, Loving Annie, Lightning Bug’s Butt, Lolli, Ghee, Chase, Chase, Ferdz, Sanna, Slick and Hailey,

Make sure to come back and leave your comment and link here so I can check on your vocabulary score. Okay? Guess what, I’ll even have a prize for the random drawing winner. It’s probably going to be a book, fiction book you can choose from my list, which I will put up in a few days.

Rain or Shine

The weather predicted 10% chance of precipitation. In fact, it was raining the night before, and it was cold. Did that stop us from going to Six Flags? Nope. We went. We left the house after 6, after we ate my big dinner of soups, and stews, and pasta.

By the time we reach the highway, precipitation was at 100%….because when droplets hit the windshield, that’s pretty much it. It’s not a chance anymore, it’s a fact, right? So we went. I had layered up my children with 3 long-sleeve shirts and two pants and heavy duty jackets. Except for my second child who wasn’t listening when I said two layers of shirts, at least.

Two Great Movies

Last Tuesday, my baby brother babysat while my husband and I went out to see a movie with our second child. We went to see August Rush with Freddie Highmore. I’ve seen him before in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland. He’s a very engaging child actor. When he smiles and his dimples peep out, he reminds me of my son.  I shed tears all over the movie, yet, it was also a very uplifting movie. It’s a story about a boy looking for his parents and he can hear music every where.

Hope: You remember how you said Mozart was a musical prod?
Reverend James: Prodigy.
Hope: Yeah, well, I’ve got one of those and he’s living under my bed!
~~~~~~~~~
Wizard: If you could choose any name in the world. Any! What would you want to be?
Wizard: Come on, kid. Any.
August Rush: Found.
We really enjoyed this movie. I hope you too will get to see it. It’s so worth it! I give this movie two thumbs up. Jonathan Rhys Meyers can actually sing.  I never noticed how cute he is! I gotta make my list of cute men for year 2007. Of course, Josh Holloway tops my list because hubby and I are catching up on “Lost”.
 After we came home, I took my daughter to a different movie. We went to see Nicolas Cage‘s National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It was a joyride of a movie. True it wasn’t deep and a tear-jerker like August Rush, but it was fun.  There were car chases, stuff that blows up, kidnapping, and lots and lots of chases…so it was quite an adventure. We’re glued to our seats until the very end. My daughter and I know that when we go and see Nicholas Cage, we’re going to be entertained the whole time. He never fails us so far. I think there’s going to be a sequel though. There’s less of a love story this time, but still, very fun.
 There you have it, my movie count this year have gone up to 109!
Thursday Thirteen 3
Today, I wanted to make a soup. However, there was nothing in my Complete 400 recipe book which I can make because of missing ingredients. I had just made a cheesecake, cookie dough, and other stuff. I really wanted to make a soup. I thought it over and decided to make one up. I know I like chunky soup, and I know I like onion in my soup. Lucky for me, I had some onions.
What I end up making was really edible and yummy. Here’s what I put together. It’s my T13 entry because there are 13 ingridients to my made-up soup.
Easy, Yummy, Chunky Soup
2007nov-210.jpg
1 med. onion, sliced into strips
2 med. baked potato, cut into small chunks (you can replace this with your favorite starch)
1 can diced tomato
4 stalks of celery
1 can white northern beans
1 can red kidney beans
1 can cream style corn
1 cup of water
1 tbsp of dried parsley
1 tsp of dried Italian mix herbs
1 tsp of dried garlic (mined or powdered)
1 tsp seasoned salt
2 tbsp Olive oil
Heat oil, add onion and stir fry until it’s translucent. Add potatoes, stir fry for 2 minutes, then add all the rest of the ingredients. Heat to a boil, stirring a little. Cool down, and serve with your favorite cracker or bread. The whole thing should be ready to serve in less than half and hour.
Serve it on a fancy bowl, and it’s good for company too. It doesn’t tasted like canned ingredients at all. Enjoy!
