Here’s My Project!

So, I got this beautiful dark wood table, but I need a chair to match it. I shopped around, and came close to buying. Until I remember that these new chairs would have to survive 4 boys and a girl. I know of such chairs, but they’re the wrong color. And frankly, they’ve had so many juices spills, I wanted to toss them out already.

Then, I thought if I could paint them, it would match. So baby and I painted away some mornings until all the chairs are painted. I think we missed some spots, but it’s alright, because it’s not obvious. Not unless you turn the chairs over and look for it. Here’s my baby with his big brush. I think we get bored and tired with painting about the same time. Except that I don’t have the option to quit like he does.

This blue is for priming the chair so the paint would stick. I was so impressed that he’s got more paint on the chair than on himself. He’s not even qutie 3!

After all our hard work, some days my other kids would paint to after school. We got the chairs looking like this.

It’s very satisfying. I think I’ll take up fixing chairs. Maybe. As long as it doesn’t interfere with my reading. I do love my books and I get homesick if I can’t read at least one in a week.
