Where Are You?

It’s a fact of life that being a mother of five and a book addict will get me some days. A few days ago, I actually fell asleep  trying to finish a book for review. I was tired from late nights of watching TV and reading after the kids are in bed. The book is great, but I was tired, so I fell asleep. Usually, when I know I’m going to take an afternoon nap, I tell my older kids that if any single one of them goes in the yard to play, then one of the older two have to be outside also. I forgot to tell anyone anything because I have no idea I was going to take a nap.

An hour or two later, I woke up and the house was quiet. Five kids and quiet house is not a good sign, especially when it’s not even bedtime. But it was quiet when I woke up. Some kids were reading and others were playing with train tracks. I started counting children, and number 5 was nowhere to be found inside. I looked outside and didn’t see anyone. I went outside anyway, just in case. Then I look closely some more, and hollered at my darling husband for his camera. Here’s what we saw.

When I asked my older kids why no one asked him inside, I was told that this sweet baby of mind would scream anyone off if they so much as touch the trampoline while he’s in there. That’s how he ended in there.
